NGO FILOXENIA
FILOXENIA (the Greek word for hospitality) is non-profit organization (NGO) founded on 01.12.1995. From July 1997 it also runs the 1st Youth Information Center in Greece, in the rural area of Kryoneri-Corinthia (Northeastern Peloponnese, South Greece, 115 Km west of Athens).
Our activities: environmental education and actions, adults education, youth work.

From May 2011 till May 2012 a group of 16 young people between 15 and 17 years old from Kiato and Corinth are participating in the Youth Democracy project (Youth in Action 1.3.) called “Put your rights up to date!”.
This project was simultaneously in Amarante (Portugal) and in Corinthia (Greece).
BIRD WATCHING: Saturday 5 FEBRUARY '11
This Saturday, February 5, 2011, the hosting out bird watching in Lake Stymfalias. Although it was snow, cold and ice, we observedabout 1000 bird species: canary grass, mallards, nerokotas andMarsh Harrier.
Training workshop for drivers for the Environment WWF
A very interesting initiative of WWF, which invitedrepresentatives of environmental organizations, was the training workshop on "Guides for the Environment" has just been issued.The workshop was held in Patras at the club ASTO"communicate" Sunday 05/12/2010.
Birdwatching
 | For the sixth time in 2010, Saturday, November 26, 2010 threeof our members participated in the recording of birds in the LakeStymfalias. The birds, to our great joy was far more than in October, therefore increasing the level of water and because of the migratory season. |
Officers Seminar Important Bird Areas
 | H HOSTING participated for the second year in the course of volunteer Regional Managers for the birds to southern Greece and Attica, on Saturday 20 and Sunday, November 21, 2010 with 15 other people at the Center for Environmental Education Kleitorias (CHELMOS). |
Celebration of Birds in 2010 Stymfalia
 | On Sunday, October 3, 2010, we organized the "Celebration of Birds" in cooperation with the City Stymfalias, in the Pan celebration of birds. |
World Day for monitoring water quality
On September 18, 2010, within days of global monitoring of water quality (World Water Monitoring Day - www.wwmd.org),members of the hospitality they were doing in the water samples:
Environmental Footpath of Kryoneri
British Volunteers in the Environmental Footpath of Kryoneri.
The Youth Support Organisation "Filoxenia" welcomed two British volunteers send by the youth organisation "Everything is Possible", which participated in maintainance works in the Environmental Footpath of the lower fountain in Kryoneri.
As part of regular maintenance works of the footpath, for which "Filoxenia" takes care of, the foreign volunteers of the European Programme "Youth in Action", will work for 1 month to clean the footpath of grass and leaves, cleaning the river bed, restoring damaged bridges and timber structures, etc.
